Heart of the Hunter 2026
It’s August, it’s Freemans Waterholes, it must be Heart of the Hunter time. Thirty odd classic cars (plus a few ring ins) lined up at the start of the 2026 Heart of the Hunter, at the traditional start location, Freemans Waterholes, for another drive around the great roads of the Hunter Valley. From the start competitors used a route chart to follow a course that took them to the lunchbreak at a Winery along the Buckets Way. There was a bit of a hick up during the morning section due to a road closer, which made for a bit of confusion, but everyone eventually worked out a way around the problem. After lunch the route took them to the finish, just north of Cessnock. The Heart of the Hunter is an annual route charted navigational event, for classic cars, organized by the Australian Historic Rally Group.
