Heart of the Hunter 2025
It’s Freeman’s Waterholes, it’s August, it must be Heart of the Hunter Time, that’s right, the Australian Historic Rally Group’s Heart of the Hunter has been run and won. Starting as usual at Freeman’s Waterholes the event headed via the great roads of the Hunter Valley to Dungog for the lunch break and then on to the finish near Cessnock. Thirty old, give or take, competitors entered the event with a cross section of cars, makes and models, everything from Ferraris to Toyotas. Unfortunately some failed to proceed, with a number breaking down along the route. For the most part the weather was sunny except for a short time at the finish when it rained, but only for a few minutes, just enough to make life a bit hard for the officials.
