Events

The AHRG holds regular Club Rallies throughout each year. The style of event varies from family oriented social outings to serious navigational rallies. With each competitive style event we endeavor to capture the spirit of what rallies were like back before they became forest races where there was a strong emphasis on both driving and navigational skills.

Typically, we open each year’s activities with the fabled Fluffy Duck. A typical club rally with navigation, driving, observation, and often the odd special test such as a Khanacross or Motorkhana. Then in winter, the Des West Winter Classic will be conducted. This will be an easy going event over good quality bitumen and gravel roads. Then, in the spring, the Heart of the Hunter is run. This is a day-time event for the family and usually includes a BBQ lunch stop and a mid afternoon finish.

Towards the end of the year we finish up with the Evan Green Memorial Rally. A route charted event with some observation boards to record.

At year’s end we will have the Xmas register Run. This is for club members who have cars on club plates who need to attend one compulsory event per in order to comply with club rules. Only good tar roads are used and rego checks are conducted at the conclusion of the event followed by a Xmas dinner at a selected venue.
