24th January 2009
It was decided to hold the Presentation Dinner after the Inspection Day activities and after the heat of the day Harrigan’s Irish Pub in Pokolbin proved an excellent venue. Easy to find, and plenty of space for our presentation dinner and awards. Getting there did, however, prove to be an interesting ride for some who found themselves in the midst of the so called ‘cool change’ which brought down the full Monty of weather conditions. Thunder, Lightning, Rain, Hail and the high winds had attendees swapping stories of trees down across roads and sheds blown over with a roof up a tree along Freemans Drive.
Harrigan’s put on a good meal for pub nosh and all had a fine time.
Each year the club recognises the efforts put in by members in various endeavours that support club activities. These include Drivers, Navigators and the Clubman of the Year awards. For 2008, points were awarded for:
Fluffy Duck Rally, Night Owl Rally, Heart of the Hunter, Rescue Helicopter Run and the combined MGCC/AHRG Gregor’s Run.
